Soul Portraits
I start with a short questionnaire. This is name, date of birth, favorite interests etc. I will also need a few favorite photos of the subject. I meditate before beginning to tap into the image and pick up impressions. The focus is on the soul’s strengths and talents and gives a multidimensional aspect to the subject. The impressions deepen as I paint. These may include past lives, archetypes that work with the subject, special abilities, animal spirit guardians, Angels and certain colors and symbols. The Soul Portrait is a representation of your unique qualities on a deeper level. This is not NOT a typical commissioned likeness.
Inner Child Portraits
I also paint ‘Inner Child’ Portraits which help an individual tune into the childlike part within. With this portrait, I work with photos from the client’s childhood.
I include a short report on the impressions I receive while painting, explaining the symbols used and any other impressions that were not included in the painting. I show the client the painting and then give them the Report.
Why get a Soul Portrait? Perhaps you have a strong desire to know yourself….your Soul’s essence more intimately. The Soul Portrait gives insight into strengths, talents and abilities you have been born with. Sometimes our environment does not foster these special talents and abilities, but still you have a sense of it. The Soul Portrait is empowering you to live your life’s purpose through a deeper understanding of your Soul strengths!
Traditional Portraits
I also paint ‘traditional’ portraits. For the traditional portrait I like to take photos of the subject if possible. If that is not possibe, I would need 3 or 4 photos of the subject with the face no smaller than the size of a quarter. Getting to know the subject is always an advantage in capturing the essence of the subject. This can be facilitated over the phone. The traditional portrait is painted more quickly than the Soul Portrait as this is a more straight forward process.
