Size: 18”x24” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Unframed BLUE PASSAGE was inspired by seeing an image of the blue streets of Morocco. As I was painting the blue streets, I had an impression of a woman, running through the blue streets alone... her experience delineated by her culture, mores and beliefs. -
Size: 16”x20” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Unframed I had painted a young girls Soul Portrait when she was around 5 of 6 years, and it was clear to me, she saw herself as an adult and maybe had an under standing that she is just visiting here and she is here to make a difference! I took more photos of her when she was a few years older and she easily posed herself. I represented this feeling of distance, by painting the image of Planet Earth off in the distance. I also felt a Native American influence I represented as a feather in her hair, blowing in the wind. -
Size: 16”x20” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Unframed My Dad’s cousin Freddie had passed away. He lived out in the country and had a huge garden of hollyhocks. When Freddie passed, I knew the hollyhocks would be cut down, so I got my niece who was six years old at the time, to come with me to take some photos of those hollyhocks. I took photos of her against the hollyhocks and the green fence... kind of late in the day. When I had almost finished the painting, my niece said, “put wings on me”. Next day a large iridescent green dragonfly was lying on the railing of the porch... like someone had placed it there for me. -
Size: 11”x14” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Framed A friend had given me a photo she had taken of a young girl, telling me I should paint her. She had the most amazing eyes that seemed to look right through you. When I painted the portrait, I placed the image of a night sky behind her to give the impression of a compassionate Angel, looking in on her human. -
Size: 16”x20” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Unframed The painting PRINCESS was inspired by a photo of a young Menominee girl attending a PowWow. The beauty of this girl and her attire, plus the look of sincerity on her face inspired me. The butterflies represent her Spirit Guides surrounding her at all times. -
Dimensions: 14”x11” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Price: $650 Framed SACRED VOW was inspired in part by a painting I had seen of a blue field and in part by a photo in a newspaper of a bride. I painted the bride over the top of the field to imply how connected we all are to planet Earth. We are basically, renting our time here on Mother Earth and as such, have a responsibility and a sacred vow to take care of her with love and respect. -
Dimensions: 16”x20” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Growing up in on the shores of Lake Green Bay in Door County, Wisconsin, I had plenty of opportunities to feel the wind on my face, hear the summer breeze and the water lapping the shore. And off in the distance, sailboats traveled back and forth across Lake Green Bay. -
Size: 36”x24” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Framed I grew up with a view of Lake Green Bay in Door County, Wisconsin right outside my back door. Many nights I was privileged to see beautiful sunsets and many of my paintings are reflections of this. The painting SISTER BAY SUNSET is my interpretation of one of those sunsets looking out from Sister Bay. -
Size: 28”X24” Medium: Oil on Stretched Canvas Framed TIBETAN MOON was originally done as a collage. I had seen a photo of a Tibetan dancer and was struck by her face. I thought she had an interesting look on her face. Then I saw a photo of the moon at night, and made a collage out of the images. I used the collage as reference for the painting. Lastly, I placed the image of Chinese rooftops showing faintly off in the distance under a full moon.
