When I was a child, I grew up on Lake Green Bay in Wisconsin. I’d often see in my mind, images of Native American people moving about through the trees in the the back yard. This painting is to symbolize my experiences from my childhood. I painted the man in the canoe and the woman’s face to show how how while on Earth, we are always searching for balance; the balance of the Feeling nature symbolized by the woman’s face and the intellectual nature, symbolized by the man in the canoe.
